At Basic Carbide, we specialize in custom-made preforms designed to suit customer's needs. Complex shapes are possible through our use of CNC equipment. Preforming shape into the parts in the "green" state reduces the time involved in finish grinding and EDM finishing of the parts. |

Solid carbide rods and double end mill blanks are among Basic's specialties. We can put straight coolant holes in preforms, but please note that this depends on the size, configuration, and length - these factors limit our capabilities in this area. |
Saw blanks and cutting tools of various configurations are also among our specialties. Our sub-micron grades perform very well in these applications. |

Parts from the oil-field industry represent some of the more complex and difficult preforms that we make. |
Wire E.D.M. blanks are our main specialty. BC-12C is our toughest grade, and when used in conjuntion with our W.E.D.M. process, is guaranteed* against cracking during the Wire E.D.M. operation. |

Seal rings in both Nickel and Cobalt grades represent another of Basic's main specialties. In many cases, parts can be turned around in less than a week, and emergency parts in 1-2 days! (Cobalt seals may require a few extra days to process) |
Complex shapes and holes help reduce waste, machining time, and cost. Basic also can put Invar (soft) plugs in preforms. On through plugs, we pressure test and dye-check the plugs to ensure that there will be no plug pull-out. |
